Servo motor replacement for the Beogram 4000 series

The servo motor in the Beogram 4000 series isn't as prone to wear as the DC platter motor, but occasionally I come across some noisy and unstable ones.
They are hard to restore since it's impossible to remove the Oilite bearings. They are fused into the motor housing, which makes it a mess.
I was so fortunate to talk to Per at the EOT exhibition in Herning this year. Per works at Stork Drives, who cooperates with Maxon Motors, and he was able to help find a replacement for the servo motor used in the Beogram 4000 series.

Maxon Motors developed the original servo motor for the Beogram 4000 series, namely the Maxon 2023.913-11.111-002, for which he was able to find the old datasheet as seen below.

The important part of replacing a motor is to find one with the same speed constant (608RPM/V as seen above) and luckily, Maxon is developing a motor that should be plug and play, called DC-max 22 S. The speed constant only differs 2RPM/V and the diameter only differs 1mm (23mm vs 22mm).

It is possible to buy and configure the motor from Maxon Group's webshop.

When clicking on the highlighted item from the webshop, you’ll be redirected to their configurator.
You must select the 12V version, graphite brushes, and sintered bearings, as these components affect the speed constant. The standard shaft length is 10 mm, whereas the original is 6mm. It's possible to change, though. You should also add a cable connector instead of a terminal.

Escap (now Portescap), who created the other, often-used motor, namely the Escap 22 C11 210 1, has also created a replacement for their motor. The original datasheet is below:

Portescap recommends replacing it with the Portescap 22DCP Athlonix, although it may run slightly faster. I'll buy it from DigiKey and try it. It's half the price of Maxons. Stay tuned to hear more.
