The plastic inserts in the BeoWatch strap tend to crack and tear, and the steel plates get scratched. I've made replacements for both, flexible TPU inserts and laser cut stainless steel plates.
The BeoWatch has a lovely steel strap, but the plastic inserts on the inside don't age well. Sooner or later they crack and tear, and the watch becomes uncomfortable or impossible to wear.
I designed a replacement insert in TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). TPU is flexible enough to follow the strap's curve and tough enough to handle daily wear and abrasion, which is exactly where the original plastic fails.
The inserts are printed in grey, which doesn't show once the watch is on your wrist. To fit them, I scrape off what's left of the old plastic and glue the new insert in place with a flexible glue.
The steel plates on the outside of the strap pick up scratches and dents over the years, and polishing only gets you so far, so I've also made new plates, laser cut from stainless steel and brushed to match the original finish.
Here's a worn original next to two new plates. They're listed under parts.
The 3D file for the insert is free to download, or let me know if you need a copy.
