Testing the BeoLink 7000

After replacing the backlight and restoring the BeoLink 7000, it is important to verify that the remote works as expected. Lucky us, B&O has made this possible in a rather funny but easy way. By adding a 10Hz signal with a maximum amplitude of 5V for at least 2 seconds to the data input on the back of the BeoLink 7000, it will execute a test program. I used the TG7 to generate the signal.

The test program makes it possible to test all the keys and verify that the display behaves as expected. It is also possible to extract essential information about the terminal.

Pressing key 9 executes a program that tests the EPROM/RAM. It should, of course, read OK. If not, it will read XX, and the EPROM might be faulty.

To exit test-mode you'll have to press the standby-button for 3 seconds. It will automatically leave test mode after 10 minutes.
